Abstract

The transformation from fully online English learning to hybrid English learning has carried as an effort to overcome the decline in students ability to learn English and their behavior. However, there is no guarantee that the implementation of hybrid English learning can run effectively, especially for students with special needs. This research aims to investigate the implementation of hybrid learning in an English class in one of the inclusive schools in Depok. The method used is descriptive qualitative. Data collection used interviews and observation. This research revealed that most students, both regular students and special needs students, prefer face-to-face sessions in the classroom rather than online sessions. Students reasons for choosing face-to-face sessions were the ease of understanding the material, asking the teacher and fellow students, and obtaining explanations and feedback from the teacher. Meanwhile, students who prefer online sessions highlighted the flexibility of time and place to study.
