Tinjauan Kriminologi terhadap Perbuatan Pemerasan di Kota Gorontalo (Studi kasus Polres Gorontalo Kota)

Abstract

This study examines the criminological aspects of extortion activities in Gorontalo City. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the research analyzes the motivations, methods, and socio-economic impacts of extortion on the local community. It highlights the prevalence of extortion, the profiles of both perpetrators and victims, and the effectiveness of law enforcement in addressing this crime. The findings suggest that socio-economic factors, including poverty and unemployment, contribute significantly to the perpetuation of extortion in the area. Recommendations for policy and community-based interventions are proposed to reduce the incidence of extortion and enhance public safety.
